Freeport A’Famosa Outlet is a collaboration with London based Freeport Retail – a global manager and investor in the outlet industry and was opened on 28 January 2016 by Datuk Seri Utama Dr. Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia with Datuk Seri Ir. Haji Idris Bin Haji Haron, Chief Minister of Melaka. Freeport A’Famosa Outlet is centrally located between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, near Melaka which has been certified World Heritage site by UNESCO. The Outlet is located adjacent to the main entrance of A’Famosa Resort in Alor Gajah, a renowned tourist landmark in Malaysia. The Dutch heritage design was conceptualized with the state government of Melaka and was designed by a leading Australian architect. Built as an open-air mall, the heavily greened landscape includes five water features, a lake, four parks and lawns, a windmill and a carousel.
